These studies have also shown that women who drink 3 cups of low fat milk per day gain less weight than those who avoid drinking milk. Low fat dairy products increase the fat breakdown in cells.

Beans

Beans contain great sources of protein, fibre and iron. Navy beans, white beans, kidney beans and lima beans are the recommended beans to eat. Try to avoid baked beans and refried beans as they are high in fats and sugars.

Oatmeal

Oatmeal absorbs fats and cholesterol. This is because it is rich in soluble fibre. This fibre expels bad digestive acids with your body waste.

Olive oil is rich in monounsaturated fat and so is one of the goods fats that you need to consume. Olive oil actually helps you to burn fat and lowers your cholesterol levels.

There is a saying “don’t eat anything white” and this is so true when it comes to wholegrain. Wholegrain carbohydrates contain the fibre and minerals your body needs.

Lean Meats

Lean meats are the best source of protein and protein is essential for building muscle and increasing your immune system. Salmon and tuna are also great sources of protein and of course have the healthy omega 3 fatty acids.

Citrus Fruits

Citrus fruits have high levels of vitamin C. 500mg of vitamin C per day can increase your fat burning while you exercise by 39 percent. Vitamin C increases your body’s ability to oxidise fat. Vitamin C manufactures carnitine which is an amino acid which transports fatty acids. Carnitine is important for fat oxidation. It also helps to reduce cholesterol deposits.

Soybeans

Soybeans contain lecithin, a chemical that prevents the cells from accumulating fat. It stops the fat forming on the cells and breaks down fatty deposits in the body.
