Weight loss Tip 1

When dining out healthy dieting is not always easy.  You could order an entrée instead of a main meal.  You just might be able to enjoy that indulgence with a clean conscience if you are only consuming a small portion of it.  If you are still hungry, you can always order a salad with oil or vinegar based dressing.  Healthy dieting can be achieved with a little advanced thought.

Weight loss Tip 2

Potato chips are a favourite with most people, but not for people concerned with healthy dieting.  If you really want to have some chips, go for the straight cut fatter chips, rather than the shoestring thin chips.  Fatter chips don’t absorb as much fat as thinner chips.  Go for the oven fry ones if you can.  That way you are not cooking in any oil at all.

Weight loss Tip 3

Drink a large glass of water before each meal.  If not only adds to your fluid intake for the day but makes you feel less hungry and if you feel less hungry you are less inclined to overeat.

Weight loss Tip 4

If you dine out often with friends or family, offer to be the designated driver at these times.  This way you are lowing your alcohol intake drastically and also lowering your calorie intake as alcohol is often associated with fatty, salty snacks which are full of calories.  By not drinking any alcohol, you will be less tempted to snack on things you shouldn’t.

A great in between meal snack, if you must have one, is nuts.  Even though nuts are reasonably high in fat, the fat is a good fat that we need in our diet.  Just don’t overeat them and try to only eat the unsalted variety if you can.

Try to change those bad habits of eating certain foods when certain things happen.  When you go to the movies you probably always order the buttered popcorn, the ice cream and the large soda.  Trying taking your own snacks when you go to the movies and make them healthy snacks.  You will save a lot of money as well.

If you decide it is too windy to go on that regular bicycle ride that is part of your diet and exercise regime, think again.

A windy day makes it harder to ride your bicycle, particularly when you ride into a head wind.

But if you are trying to lose weight, it is a good thing because you are forced to exercise harder, and the harder we exercise, the more calories we burn don’t we?

Just remember to take it easy on the speed as you don’t want to overdo it.  Just slow down and enjoy the ride and think about those burning calories.

Weight loss Tip 8

Always keep a bottle of water handy when you are out and about.  Quiet often when you feel you are hungry, you are just thirsty and by drinking that bottle of water it will distract you from making that bad decision to eat something you know you shouldn’t.  Healthy dieting does not always mean going without your favourites.  Healthy dieting just means changing the way you do things.
