Listen to your mates

Men are not as subtle as women when it comes to making comments about their friends to their faces.  Their comments are usually short and blunt and straight to the point.  So, if a friend or friends comment that you are putting on a few pounds – you are putting on a few pounds.  Perhaps more than a few but he is being kind.  So take note of the comments from your pals.  Men's weight loss is not difficult as you can see below.

Don’t go on a diet

Men's weight loss does not mean you have to go on a diet.  You just have to make some changes – sometimes big and small – to your eating habits.  Those changes will make all the difference and you won’t even notice the changes after a while.

Ask your partner for help

Your partner has probably already noticed that you are gaining and more than likely has made comments to you about this.  Those comments could have been in your face comments or perhaps more subtle but to the point.  So, if you are inclined to ask your partner to assist you in losing those extra pounds you have gained, I’m sure that your partner will be only too happy to help you to change your eating habits.  It doesn’t have to be huge changes where you just couldn’t eat the food they are suggesting, but small changes that will make all the difference.

Healthy eating

There are no excuses these days for people not knowing how to eat healthily.  There are so many web sites and articles and books where you can find out all the information you need.  The media, eg radio and television, are saturated on a regular basis with advice about the right foods to eat.  You can’t walk past a newstand without magazines and newspapers with their front pages screaming at you with the latest diet and exercise craze.  Not all are crazes.  A lot of them are good healthy eating advice.

Eat five portions of fruit and vegetables each day

Great advice eh?  Not always easy to do.  But at least you can try.  A good guide to healthy eating is to apportion your dinner plate.  One quarter of your plate should be your protein, one quarter should be carbohydrate and the other half should be vegetables.  The more colourful the better.

Eat less takeaway

I know everyone is time poor these days and the convenience of picking up something on the way home is tempting, but not only are these foods mostly much more fat than you should eat in one meal, they don’t always have very much in the way of vegetables either.

Set aside a day or night once a week and do some bulk cooking that you can divide into containers and put them in the freezer so all you have to do when you get home is to re heat the food.  I live alone and love to cook.  Most recipes are for four people, so where possible, and this is most of the time, I freeze food for later.  It also saves on the washing up of heaps of cooking utensils like saucepans, fry pans, etc.

A word of caution though.  It’s fine to freeze your food in those cheap plastic containers you buy at $2 shops.  I use them all the time.  But don’t reheat the food in them.  You don’t know what is leaching from those containers  when they are heated.  I put the food on a dish or in a bowl and defrost and reheat in those dishes that I am going to eat out of.  I just think it’s safer.

As you can see, men's weight loss is not to difficult.  You just have to change a few things.
